Peace and blessings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
— Matthew 10:42
On behalf of the Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu (LSMG) in Arua Diocese, Northern Uganda, I write to you with deep humility and hope, seeking your prayerful and financial support toward a life-changing initiative — the construction of a water well for our underserved community, which has lived without clean and safe water for nearly a decade.
The only existing water source in our area is a stagnant and heavily contaminated stream that is sadly shared with animals. This poses severe health risks, especially to children, the elderly, and people with weakened immunity. The burden of fetching water from far and unsafe sources has affected school attendance, dignity, and overall well-being of many vulnerable people in our locality.
As a congregation rooted in service to the poor and marginalized, we, the Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu, feel compelled to act and are committed to being instruments of hope in this dire situation. However, we cannot achieve this mission without your kind assistance. We therefore humbly request your financial support—no matter how small—to help us construct a well that will provide clean, reliable, and life-saving water to our community.
May the Lord, who is the source of all living water, bless your generosity and compassion. We remain deeply grateful for your prayers, solidarity, and any support you can offer toward this cause.
With prayerful regards,
Sr. Lucy Leru
